The Mangnuo Stone Carvings

In the early 1960s, the stone carving with the four characters “天下人多” (The World is Full of People) was first discovered near the ancient post road at the back of Xiaobidi Mountain in Xiaobidi, Mangnuo Township.

From February to June 1998, the county cultural bureau organized an investigation and discovered multiple stone carvings. Experts noted: There are many stone carving sites in Mangnuo, which are distributed in a relatively regular pattern. This is rare within the province, and they hold significant historical, cultural, and academic value, and should be regarded as cultural heritage within Shuangjiang County. They are mainly distributed on the mountains behind the natural villages of Xiaobidi, Laolinzhai, and Shangbidi in Xiaobazi Administrative Village, Mangnuo Township, and in Chitang Village, Mangnuo Administrative Village. Many patterns are still clearly recognizable today, and it is designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit.
