Wangjiang Shilang Tourist Area

Wangjiang Shilang Tourist Area is located on the upper reaches of the Xiaohei River, 10 kilometers south of Shuangjiang County. It gets its name from a unique rock formation within the scenic area, also known as the Stone General. Perched high on a cliff, it overlooks the prosperous Mengmeng Basin and the ethnic villages in the distance. The rock stands 5 meters tall, with a circumference of about 12 meters, and is an irregular oval shape, with its smaller end tilted and resting on another rock, giving it a precarious appearance. From a distance, it resembles a sorrowful lover lost in thought. Legend has it that the rock was once a man who, heartbroken after his love affair failed, turned into stone. The woman jumped into the river and became the Sleeping Beauty, while the man, consumed by grief, transformed into the Stone General. The two remain locked in eternal longing, gazing at each other across the ages, as if telling a poignant and touching love story.
