Introduction: The Jiele Golden Pagoda is located beside the national highway from Kunming to Ruili, in the Jiele Village about 5 kilometers northeast of Ruili County. Glittering with golden light, it is widely renowned. In the Dai language, the pagoda is called “Guangmu Hemo,” which means “the pagoda at the head of the plain.” It is the oldest Buddhist structure, religious site, and tourist attraction in Ruili, and its scale is no less grand than that of the Yunyan Pagoda and the Manfeilong Pagoda in Xishuangbanna. The Jiele Golden Pagoda was first built in the 17th century as a complex of 17 pagodas. The main body is covered with golden ceramic tiles, and apart from the main tower, it is surrounded by 16 smaller towers, all coated in gold powder. Resplendent and magnificent, they are like stars surrounding the moon, forming an awe-inspiring sight. Transportation: After arriving in Ruili, you can hire a taxi to get there.
