Introduction: In Dai villages, almost every household has an ornate house, but Hansa Zang House is the most magnificent and largest of all such houses in the Dai villages of Ruili. It is located 4 kilometers south of Ruili City. The term “Zang House” means temple. This is a stilt-style building, richly decorated in vibrant colors, and holds considerable influence along the China-Myanmar border. Although the temple itself is not very large, it is home to a very kind and revered monk who, if you're fortunate, may bless you and perform a consecration ceremony. Hansa Zang House is a uniquely ethnic-style structure surrounded by wind-blown bamboo and drooping banyan branches. Together with the nearby Dai bamboo villages, it forms a harmonious and unified architectural complex. It is said to be the essence of traditional Dai architecture and an artistic treasury of Dai cultural heritage. During Dai festivals, it attracts a continuous stream of worshippers and tourists.
