The Mori Tropical Rainforest Scenic Area (Zaduo Tropical Rainforest Scenic Area) is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Mori Tropical Rainforest Scenic Area is located within the Ruili River National Scenic Area, approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Ruili City. Covering a total area of 7 square kilometers, the area features a tropical rainforest landscape.

According to Buddhist scriptures, the Buddha once retreated here to meditate, creating many touching stories with elephants, monkeys, and other creatures that have been passed down through the ages.

The scenic area boasts a forest coverage rate of over 96%, home to 1,540 species of plants, 479 types of flowers and spices, and more than ten species of rare and protected flora. The warm, humid climate, abundant sunshine, and generally calm winds throughout the year create ideal conditions. The Mori River flows from north to south, cutting through the basin and into the Ruili River. Its winding course carries crystal-clear streams, flanked by unique rocks and lush trees, forming a serene and picturesque landscape. A roughly 4-kilometer walk along the river valley reveals fascinating sights such as the “Buddha’s Footprint,” “Plant Fossils,” “Tree-Covered Rock,” and the “Zaduo Waterfall,” along with various rare plants and flowers. The area has an exceptionally high negative ion concentration of up to 69,000 ions per cubic centimeter, and the phytoncides produced by the forest are highly beneficial to human health.

The Mori Tropical Rainforest Scenic Area is a must-visit destination in Ruili. It offers a spiritual journey for devotees and a serene, deep-breathing sanctuary gifted by nature.

Chartered Car: A chartered car from Ruili City costs about 50 RMB one way; round-trip prices can be negotiated

Public Transport: Taking the bus is not recommended. Buses from downtown Ruili drop you off at the west side fork of the Wanhui Bridge, for around 5.5 RMB, after which you’ll need to walk another 5–6 kilometers
