Jiegao Port

Jiegao Port is located 4 kilometers southeast of Ruili city center, on the eastern bank of the Ruili River. Covering an area of 1.92 square kilometers, it is closely connected to Myanmar’s Muse town and is the only settlement in Ruili that spans the river, directly linked by land to Myanmar. Historically referred to as an “enclave,” crossings used to rely solely on bamboo rafts and wooden boats. In 1989, the Jiegao Bridge was constructed to connect the two sides of the river. In 1991, with approval from the provincial government, the Jiegao Border Trade Economic Zone was established. At the location of China’s Boundary Pillars No. 81 to No. 82, China and Myanmar jointly built a wide Sino-Myanmar Trade Street. Rows of newly built ethnic shops and stalls are filled with a dazzling array of daily necessities and ethnic handicrafts, creating an overwhelming sense of a bustling marketplace.

50% of Yunnan’s total import and export trade volume passes through this port, making it a national-level border trade hub.

1. You can hire a car in Ruili City for 300–500 yuan, which includes visits to attractions such as the Jielei Golden Tower, the One Tree Forest, and the Moli Rainforest.

2. Take Bus No. 3 to get there.

3. There are many taxis in Ruili that go to Jiegao. A taxi ride costs around 20 yuan, or about 5 yuan per person if you share the ride.
