Ruili Ethnic Cultural Palace
The Ethnic Cultural Palace is located on the east side of the southern section of Qingnian Road, covering an area of 154 mu, and was completed in 1988.
Upon entering the palace, you will see that the gate is designed in a triangular spire style with a gourd-shaped doorway, representing a Dai-style palace architecture. Its colors are magnificent and resplendent, embodying a strong Dai ethnic character. Inside, there is the “White Dragon Pavilion,” a symbol of the Dai Water-Splashing Festival, as well as the symbol of the Jingpo Munao Zongge festival, the “Munao Shidong.” The palace also houses the “Premier Memorial Pavilion,” which has a stacked pavilion design, topped with golden ceramic tiles, and a square base with eight sides. The railing is inlaid with marble, and there are 20 entrances. The horizontal inscriptions and plaques are written in Chinese, Dai, and Jingpo scripts, recounting how in December 1956, during an overseas visit, Premier Zhou Enlai and Vice Premier He Long, together with Burmese Prime Minister U Ba Swe and his delegation, presided over a border peoples' gathering in Mangshi, promoting the profound friendship between the people of China and Myanmar. In addition, the site features a fountain pool, a children’s playground, a square, and more. With murmuring streams and lush tropical and subtropical plants, it is a great destination for sightseeing and enjoying the cool during the summer heat.
