Jieshiang Gem Street

Jieshiang is located in the central part of the Ruili Basin. It is a transliteration from the Dai language, meaning "Gem Street," and is now used as both a township name and a village name. It is said that the chieftains and relatives of Mengmao often traveled between Mengmao City and the mountain city of Leiyun, and would stop here to rest and shop for jewelry at the market to take back for personal use. Later, this former hub for gem trading was given the unique name Jieshiang. Jieshiang is rich and beautiful, dotted with bamboo houses.
