Wanda Tourism Town

Wanda Tourism Town is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Located by Donghu Lake in the heart of Danzhai County, Guizhou Province, Wanda Tourism Town covers an area of 400 acres with a construction area of approximately 50,000 square meters. It consists of 22 individual buildings and stretches 1.5 kilometers in length.

Thanks to its outstanding design, the Danzhai Wanda Town project won the Gold Nugget Award (GoldNuggets Awards) in the “Best International Commercial Project” category at the 54th PCBC (Pacific Coast Builders Conference) in the United States.

In recent years, the trend of building tourism towns has emerged across the country, with many places using tourism as a banner but essentially engaging in real estate development. The construction of Danzhai Wanda Town can be considered a conscientious effort in the industry, achieving a perfect integration of natural landscapes and ethnic cultural charm.

The town centers around intangible cultural heritage and the cultures of the Miao and Dong ethnic groups, integrating commerce, culture, leisure, and tourism. It features the world’s largest waterwheel (a Guinness World Record), a 3,000-meter lakeside jogging track, a thousand-acre flower field, four major Miao and Dong cultural theme squares, the Birdcage Post Office, boutique inns, neighborhood shops, distilleries, rice stores, guildhalls, bars, cinemas, and many other cultural tourism functions. Danzhai Wanda Town is Wanda Group’s debut project in Guizhou, aiming to create a premium comprehensive tourism destination that combines “dining, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, entertainment, and education.”

Danzhai Wanda Town has also introduced all seven national-level intangible cultural heritage projects and 16 provincial-level intangible cultural heritage elements from Danzhai, including the ancient Shiqiao papermaking technique, the Miao Jijin Dance, Miao batik, and the Mangtong Lusheng sacrificial music. Here, visitors can personally experience the profound heritage of intangible culture and ethnic traditions, as well as the authentic spirit of craftsmanship.
