Meijiang Gorge Scenic Area

Meijiang Gorge Scenic Area: Located upstream of Tianmen Gorge Scenic Area, it begins at Yan Kong Ba Village at the 60-kilometer mark of National Highway 326. The river stretches 10 kilometers in length and covers an area of 40 square kilometers. The upper section features pastoral scenery and landscapes reminiscent of Guilin, while the middle and lower sections showcase canyon landforms with lush vegetation and unique vistas. At the confluence with a tributary stream lies a large sandy beach, atop which lies a mysteriously shaped Danxia canyon. Along the river’s course, there are over ten beach openings, and the final one presents an extraordinarily spectacular sight: as if by divine design, a cluster of rocky mountains has been cast into the river, cutting off the ceaseless flow of water. “The mountains and rivers make you doubt there’s a way through,” but once you navigate around the rocky outcrop in the river, you’ll find “a bright and blooming scene beyond.” The canyon, waterfalls, massive stone stalagmites, the midstream rocky mountain, and the emerald-green waters together form a breathtakingly magnificent panorama. This beach is named “Dragon King Beach.”
