Guizhou Tea Culture Ecological Museum

The Central Hall of the Guizhou Tea Culture Ecological Museum is a core venue within the Guizhou Tea Culture Ecological Museum cluster. It is located in "China Tea City" on Tianwen Avenue, Meijiang Town, Meitan County, Guizhou Province, covering an exhibition area of over 2,000 square meters. The exhibits mainly include the prelude hall and ten sections with 43 units: “Introduction,” “The Origin of Tea,” “Tea in Ancient Times,” “Historical Famous Teas,” “The Central Experimental Tea Farm of the Republic of China,” “Tea Plantation Development,” “Tea Scientific Research,” “Tea Supply, Marketing and Foreign Trade,” “Contemporary Tea Industry,” and “Tea Etiquette and Customs.” Among these, the sections “Tea Scientific Research” and “Tea Supply, Marketing and Foreign Trade” are still under construction.

The museum began preparations in March 2013 and officially opened to the public on September 28, 2013, during the 2nd Zunyi City Tourism Development Conference held in Meitan.

On September 29, 2013, the Guizhou Tea Culture Ecological Museum was established in Meitan and officially opened to the public. It is the only ecological museum in Guizhou Province themed around tea culture. The virtually completed specialized museums include the Central Hall of the Guizhou Tea Culture Ecological Museum, the Memorial Hall of the Central Experimental Tea Farm of the Republic of China, the Guizhou Tea Industry Museum, and the Dongfanghong Power Station Exhibition Hall. Together, they form a rich and profound cluster of Guizhou Tea Culture Ecological Museums. The completion and opening of this museum cluster not only fills the gap of tea culture-themed museums in Guizhou Province, marking an epoch-making significance, but will also actively promote and boost the exploration of the depth of Guizhou’s tea culture, the protection of its tea cultural ecology, the development of the tea cultural industry, and the promotion of tea cultural tourism.

Guizhou is one of the birthplaces of the world’s tea plant and tea culture, boasting a long and profound history of tea culture. The Guizhou Tea Culture Ecological Museum serves as a window into Guizhou’s tea culture, a base for protecting and inheriting Guizhou’s tea cultural heritage, and an important platform for building the Guizhou tea brand. We firmly believe that high-quality Guizhou tea and refined Guizhou tea culture will bring the world even richer and more aromatic experiences.
