Pingtao Primitive Forest Scenic Area is closely connected to the provincial-level scenic spot Jiangjiehe,

and is 22 kilometers away from the Jiangjiehe Bridge. Here, the roaring Wu River becomes extremely gentle,

with calm waters and a wide river surface. Towering ancient trees line both banks, entwined with vines, and the area is home to a diverse range of wildlife. Monkey troops are often seen playing in the forest, and the nationally protected rare animal, the Chinese giant salamander (also known as the "baby fish"), is also frequently spotted in this area. The mountains are home to ancient pines that require ten people to encircle, with their trunks covered in moss, epiphytic vines, and multiple parasitic trees, creating the wonder of trees growing on trees. The scenic area also features attractions such as Tianyin Bridge and Gekou River. Tianyin Bridge is a stretch of hidden current formed where Zhaoxi River joins the Wu River, stretching hundreds of meters, with a large cave at the exit. The water inside the cave is dark green, and one can venture several yards into it. Schools of fish gather in the cave, swimming leisurely. Local legends say that if anyone tries to fish here, the water in the cave will immediately rise and seal the entrance, which is why few dare to venture in, giving the place an enduring air of mystery. Another wonder is the waterfall-like spring, as thick as a bucket, cascading down from the cliff and falling into a naturally formed stone pool by the river before flowing into the Wu River. In the pool, there is a rock resembling a fish’s back that appears and disappears mysteriously and has yet to be named. This is the best destination for eco-tourism enthusiasts.
