Yuqing Dayujiang Scenic Area is situated in the central part of Yuqing County, Zunyi City, at the heart of the northern, southern, southeastern, and eastern Guizhou tourism regions, making it conveniently accessible. The area mainly features the Dayujiang River, which traverses the county, and is divided into segments including the Dayujiang Jincheng Gorge area, Silongchang area, Shawan section, Niweitan section, Laocunhe area, Huashan ethnic landscape area, as well as two standalone attractions — the Tashan Cliff Carvings and the Wanzhangkeng Red Army Martyrs' Cemetery. It boasts 39 natural landscapes and numerous cultural sites.

There are also 12 cultural landscapes, covering a total scenic area of 100 square kilometers.

The scenic area features excellent natural ecology and high environmental quality, with unpolluted air and water. Its attractions are relatively concentrated and of considerable scale, forming a diverse landscape that includes deep valleys, rapids and dangerous shoals, steep cliffs, peculiar peaks and rocks, primeval forests, rare animals, and karst caves. It is characterized by its majestic, spectacular, perilous, and beautiful scenery. The area still preserves historical relics such as ancient bridges, ancient tombs, and cliff inscriptions. Natural wonders like the Tiger Mouth Rapids of Dayujiang and the magical Horse Tail Waterfall leave visitors in awe. Additionally, the famous battle site where the Red Army courageously crossed the Wu River is also located here.
