Maotai China Wine Culture City was built through three years of hard work by China Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd. Covering an area of over 3,000 square meters with a construction area of more than 8,000 square meters, the cultural city is grand in scale and majestic in presence. It features seven exhibition halls representing the Han, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing dynasties, and modern times.

Each hall reflects the typical architectural aesthetics of its respective era: the Han Hall is simple and majestic, the Tang Hall is magnificent and splendid, the Song Hall is elegant and delicate, the Yuan Hall is rugged and bright, the Ming Hall is exquisite and unique, the Qing Hall is ornate and solemn, and the Modern Hall is clear and smooth, radiating the spirit of the age. The halls house a large number of group sculptures, reliefs, plaques, screens, calligraphy and paintings, artifacts, photographs, and cultural relics that introduce the development of China’s wine industry throughout the ages from different perspectives, as well as the politics, economy, culture, and folk customs related to wine. They showcase the evolution of wine production, the brewing process, and the social functions of wine, allowing visitors to sense the solemnity of regulations, the dignity of historical documents, the vibrancy of literature and art, the rigor of technical standards, and the diverse charm of wine culture. They also reflect the core essence of wine culture, including the ways of thinking, national character, religious beliefs, ethics, and spiritual sentiments displayed by people in the processes of making, using, and drinking wine.

Maotai China Wine Culture City spans a thousand years of history, vividly presenting the power struggles and intrigue within the imperial palace; the scheming and rivalries among royalty, officials, and eunuchs; the fierce battles on the battlefield; the verbal sparring in diplomatic arenas; the poignant farewells at long pavilions and border passes; the passionate songs of poets and scholars; and the diverse scenes of revelry among commoners...

Transportation

By Bus: Take a bus from Zhongzhuang Station in Zunyi to Renhuai, then transfer to a shuttle bus at the city’s long-distance bus station to reach Maotai Town. The journey takes about 20 minutes and costs approximately 3 yuan. After getting off, you can walk or take a taxi to the scenic area.

By Car: Take the Rongzhou-Zunyi/ Zunyi-Chishui Expressway, exit at Maotai from the Maotai Bridge, drive along the Central Tunnel—S208 to Maotai Town, then turn onto Maoyuan Road.

Guojiu Community: Located in the northwest of Maotai Town, Guojiu Community covers an area of 1.8 square kilometers and serves as the political, economic, and cultural hub of the town. The community has 7 residential groups with a total of 1,742 households and a population of 5,485. The state-owned mega-enterprise Kweichow Moutai Group is headquartered here. The community is also home to tourist attractions such as the China Wine Culture City and the Sushi Garden.
