Longtang Scenic Area

Longtang Scenic Area is located in the middle section of the Cao Du River within the county, 42 kilometers from Pingtang County town, covering an area of 50.5 square kilometers with 23 scenic spots. These include Longtang Lake, Qinglong Cave, Qinglong Gorge, Wolong Cave, Songcha Waterfall Cluster, Lianshi Gorge, Hongyan River Valley, Bailang River Gorge, and the Buyi ethnic village of Huangtuba, totaling 20 scenic spots across an area of 50.5 square kilometers. On the left side of Longtang Lake lies a karst cave, which is 30 to 80 meters high, 10 to 20 meters wide, 500 meters long, and has water depths of 7 to 15 meters. The stalactites inside the cave are uniquely shaped and take on a variety of forms, and there are two skylights. Sunlight shines through the skylights into the water, creating sparkling light patterns and a mysterious deep atmosphere. Through the skylights, one can see mountains beyond mountains and hear birds chirping. The upper reaches of the Hongyan River are locally referred to as the "Little Three Gorges." The gorge is 3.5 kilometers long, with a channel width of 50 to 80 meters and water depth of 8 to 12 meters. Steep cliffs rise on both sides, with ancient trees and hanging vines. The water surface is calm, with shimmering ripples. Boating here evokes poetic inspiration. The Hundred-Zhang Flying Ribbon consists of two streams that rush down from a height of 30 meters, forming a 4-meter-wide waterfall that resembles two silver ribbons fluttering in the air, showing great grace before finally plunging into the deep pool at the foot of the mountain, splashing silver water droplets, creating ripples, and shattering the reflection of the sky beneath the water. The Longtang Scenic Area combines mountains, water, gorges, caves, forests, lakes, waterfalls, and rocks, making it an excellent destination for leisure, vacation, exploration, and adventure. The Longtang Scenic Area integrates mountains, water, gorges, caves, forests, lakes, waterfalls, and rocks into one cohesive landscape; the Xiliang area features fast-flowing gorges with numerous shoals, well-preserved virgin forests, and mysterious karst caves; the Jiacha area is characterized mainly by waterfalls, bamboo forests, and subtropical southern scenery.
