Bianyang Wenchang Pavilion

Bianyang Wenchang Pavilion is a cultural relic protection unit of Luodian County.

Located within the campus of Bianyang Town No. 1 Primary School, 42 kilometers from Luodian County, it is a county-level key cultural relic under protection. The pavilion was built in the early Qing Dynasty, originally situated by the Sha Jing area of Bianyang Railway Station. It later fell into disrepair and was destroyed. In 1929, at the initiative of local gentry Huang Renzhao from Bianyang, the “Public Welfare Maintenance Association” was established in Bianyang, with Huang Renzhao serving as its president. The association initiated a fundraising campaign to restore the Wenchang Pavilion. People from all directions actively supported the effort, donating funds and materials. By July of the following year, the new Wenchang Pavilion was completed within the campus of Luobei Primary School (now Bianyang No. 1 Primary School), along with the construction of three new school buildings. The Wenchang Pavilion stands proudly with its upturned eaves and flying rafters. Towering ancient trees grow vigorously all around, lush and green. The window carvings are exquisitely and delicately crafted, unique in style. The floral, bird, and animal motifs on the eave pillars are vividly lifelike. A pair of stone lions guards the entrance, gazing majestically into the distance with an air of solemn authority.
