WanTan River Scenic Area

The WanTan River originates in Baisuo of Longli County and Gaopo Township of Huaxi District, flowing through Wantai Yangchang Town into Gukuang of Guiding County, covering a catchment area of 163.8 square kilometers within the county. The WanTan River is located in the southern part of Longli County, bordering the Longli Grassland to the north, connecting with Gaopo Township of Guiyang City to the west, linking with Gangdu Township of Huishui County to the south, and adjoining Yunwu Township and Gukuang Township of Guiding County to the east, involving areas such as Baisuo, Wantai, and Yangchang.

The areas around Wantai and Yangchang along the WanTan River are known as the “Ten-Thousand-Mu Great Plain,” serving as the “Granary of Longli.” The region boasts beautiful pastoral scenery, with traditional villages of the Buyi and Miao ethnic groups nestled among the hills, rich in ethnic culture. From the Cayer Rock Reservoir, Yudong Karst Window Cave Cluster, Jinxing Grand Rift Valley, and Bairong Waterfall to the Yunwu Mountain, Zhijiangchong, and the Ten-Thousand-Mu Great Plain of Yangchang; from the fruit tree cave coffin burials and “Tiaodong” rituals in Baisuo, ancient Miao folk songs, to the Muting Ancient Military Camp, Anjinzhai—the hometown of Buyi painting and calligraphy art, and further to the Peacock Buyi Folk Culture Garden, a creative base for Chinese Buyi ecological folk songs, and the Cuibo Temple... Strolling through the vast farmland, one is enchanted by the masterpiece where nature and history intertwine, and craftsmanship and culture reflect each other—offering a truly delightful and unforgettable experience.

The under-construction WanTan River Eco-Efficient Agricultural Industrial Park organically integrates modern agriculture with traditional villages, pastoral landscapes, and ethnic culture, striving to create a new highlight for the integration of agriculture and tourism.
