Downtown Taichung to Turn Into a Massive Sports Arena – Green Circle Art Festival Kicks Off on July 10

The 2016 “Green Circle Flip Action Ready Go” will launch on July 15, transforming the Museum of Contemporary Art, QIN into a public sports arena. Surrounding areas will also host old neighborhood revitalization projects and fun sports events, turning the entire downtown Taichung area into a massive exhibition space throughout the summer vacation.

As part of the “Green Circle Flip Action Ready Go” at the Museum of Contemporary Art, QIN, five artist-designed small house areas will be turned into an 18-hole mini golf competition venue. Fun activities such as table tennis, basketball, and aerobics will be scattered across Zhongming Li, Minlong Li, and Zhongxing Li along Zhuogu Dao, where sports events will also take place.

At the Golden Park Mall, from the first floor to B1, the “Daydream Exchange Vending Machine” offers a cool daytime escape. Taiwan’s first art-in-residence store—Qianmei Cultural and Creative Village LAB—brings artistic creation into the mall.

Qianmei Eslite Green Park will feature dachshund pedal bikes; the Music Tailor Shop, a collaboration between Noisey Workshop and Fish Jumping Theater, will present site-specific Button Notes x Micro Theater (August 13). The student art shop EDA will showcase 300 works by 40 students. Additionally, “Ballboss Real Estate” sees artist Ballboss taking on the role of a real estate agent, teaming up with Corner Glow to host art exhibitions and sell “houses” alongside the homeless.
