The Tomb of Liu Tiansheng is located in Bagu Town, Duyun City. Liu Tiansheng was a native of Jiji (now Dongfeng Village, Bagu Town), Duyun, and was a renowned leader of the Miao ethnic group’s peasant uprising during the Xianfeng and Tongzhi eras of the Qing Dynasty. In April of the tenth year of the Tongzhi reign (1871 AD), he died a heroic death while resisting Qing troops.

Liu Tiansheng:

(1817–1871), from Duyun Prefecture, Guizhou Province, Qing Dynasty. Leader of a peasant uprising. Born into poverty and subjected to oppression, in May of the fifth year of the Xianfeng reign (1855 AD), he led a Miao uprising in Bagu, Duyun, advanced toward Jiji River, established a base, and was acclaimed as king by his followers. Liu Tiansheng was resourceful, brave, and skilled in battle. Under his leadership, the rebel forces operated across Duyun, Dushan, Libo, Dujiang, Bazi, Mahua, Datang, Guiding, Pingyue, Wengan, and Luohu.
