From the North Gate, you can climb up onto the city wall. From there, you can admire the robust form of the ancient wall, take in the green willows swaying in the mist outside, watch visitors enjoying themselves at the amusement park, and see the camels — ready to give rides — waiting quietly for customers. Looking down into the city, rows of grey-brick, tiled houses are neatly arranged, evoking a serene everyday life. From the wall, you can walk all the way from the North Gate to the West Gate. Along the way, you’ll have ample opportunity to appreciate the architecture of the ancient wall. Gate towers, battle towers, watchtowers — these former defensive structures have today become scenic spots where visitors can admire ancient architecture.
