The exhibition content of the Pingyao Beef Museum is divided into 16 halls: the Preface Hall (Merchants of Shanxi Across China), Pingyao Historical and Cultural Hall, Pingyao Beef Heritage Skills Hall, Xingshenglei Hall, Pingyao Beef Pioneer Lei Jinning Hall, Shanxi Merchants' Noodles Hall, Empress Dowager Cixi in Pingyao Hall, Zili Cheng Hall, Farming and Herding Ode, Ox-Plowing Eulogy, Taotang Laurels, Shanxi Merchants Training Center Hall, the Echoes of Pingyao Beef, Ox-Dissecting Hall, Old Workshop, and Sales Hall.

The museum systematically and comprehensively reveals the cultural connotations of Pingyao beef through a comprehensive display format that includes scenes, text, images, audiovisuals, models, artifacts, and sculptures.
