Jilin Temple (Zhenjun Mansion) (Old Cinema) is a cultural tourism attraction.

Jilin Temple (Zhenjun Mansion), located on the east side of the southern section of South Street in Pingyao Ancient City and facing west, has an uncertain exact date of establishment. Originally the ancestral temple of the Liang family, it shares heritage roots with Jixiang Temple within the ancient city as part of the Liang clan’s ancestral property from Liangguan Village in Pingyao. To distinguish it from the Jilin Temple on North Street, it is also known as Liang Jilin Temple, South Jilin Temple, or Zhenjun Mansion.

It is a Taoist site and a complex of temples dedicated to the worship of Erlang Shen. In folklore, Erlang Shen is often regarded as a deity associated with water management and flood prevention. This site is considered one of the larger Erlang Shen temples in China. The Jilin Temple boasts a grand and imposing temple gate, flanked by a pair of stone lions and a pair of ornamental columns. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a brick-carved screen wall featuring the “Two Dragons Playing with a Pearl” design, along with twelve zodiac animal stone carvings. The entire temple complex consists of three courtyards. There is a pair of bell and drum towers, with the main hall situated in the second courtyard. In front of the main hall are the Heaven and Earth Furnace and a pair of flagpoles. The temple complex includes a total of eleven buildings.

The 3:20 PM performance at Zhenjun Mansion features “Bayin Hui” (Eight-Tone Music Ensemble) and “Zhezi Opera” (Operatic Excerpts).
