Pingyao (Jinzhong) Zhangdan Pavilion
Zhangdan Pavilion was built during the Ming Dynasty. "Zhangdan," a phrase originating from the Book of Documents · Bi Ming meaning "praise the good and condemn the evil," refers to promoting virtue and denouncing vice. The Zhangdan Pavilion served as a place for proclaiming imperial edicts, local regulations, and upholding moral conduct by praising the good and condemning the evil.
