Yi Garden Landscape Art Museum is located in Jinniu District, Chengdu, and is a model of Western Sichuan gardens created by Sichuan Yiyuan Landscape Group. It embodies the philosophy of Yi Dao through the form of private garden architecture. Situated at No. 8 Jinqiao Road, Sichuan Yiyuan (Private) Landscape Art Museum in western Chengdu, the garden spans over 120 acres and is an art garden that blends classical and modern elements. Its elegant architecture, beautiful surroundings, and profound Taoist cultural heritage have made it popular among domestic and international visitors.

The garden is shaded by ancient trees, lush and verdant, with babbling streams, bridges reflecting on the water, and uniquely shaped rocks and old stumps. It preserves the simplicity and plainness of traditional Chinese architecture while creatively incorporating the practicality and comfort sought in modern construction. The affiliated Yiyuan Catering Company pioneered the concept of garden restaurants and tea ceremonies in Chengdu, creating the distinctive Yiyuan cuisine and Yiyuan tea art.

As China’s first private landscape art museum, Yiyuan not only houses culturally valuable calligraphy and paintings, precious classical furniture, and stone carvings, but also features exquisitely carved details with an antique charm on every building. Academic authorities in China’s industry have assessed that the entire “Yiyuan is essentially a relocated assembly of cultural relic components, and should now be regarded as a cultural relics protection unit.” After visiting Yiyuan, Mr. Luo Zhewen, a master of ancient Chinese architecture, praised it as a “model of cultural relic preservation and utilization.”
