Jiguan Mountain Natural Park is located on the western edge of the Chengdu Plain, in the northwest corner of Chongzhou City, Sichuan Province. It borders Laopengzi in Yafeng Village, Goushe Township of Chongzhou City to the east, neighbors Dayi County to the south, connects to the Miaojiling Snow Mountain with an altitude of 5,364 meters to the west, and adjoins Wenchuan County of the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture to the north. Backed by the perennially snow-capped “Four Girls” Mountain, it is also home to the Anzihe Giant Panda Nature Reserve — the only giant panda nature reserve in Chengdu. With a forest coverage rate of 95%, it is renowned for its unique natural landscapes including “mountain peaks, forests, waterfalls, snow mountains, hot springs, sea of clouds, and giant pandas,” as well as its cultural heritage. The scenery takes shape with the mountain contours and changes vibrantly with the seasons, offering great value for sightseeing and scientific research. The park boasts extraordinarily beautiful water features, with high mountains and clear waters, flying waterfalls, and flowing springs, creating a richly diverse array of waterfall landscapes. Every year from May to June, thousands of acres of azaleas bloom across the meadows, forming a sea of flowers that adds boundless charm to the peak. Even more precious is the V-shaped alpine meadow belt located in the northeast corner of Jiguan Mountain, at an altitude of 3,000–3,300 meters. Stretching 2.5 kilometers from east to west and 0.8 kilometers from north to south, with an average slope of 8.33°, it forms a natural alpine skiing and grass-sledding area.
