Nine-Eye Bridge

Nine-Eye Bridge is located in Jinjiang District, Chengdu. Originally named Hongji Bridge and also known as Zhenjiang Bridge, it was first built in the 21st year of the Wanli era during the Ming Dynasty (1593) under the supervision of then Provincial Administration Commissioner Yu Yilong. The bridge features nine arches, and was renamed Nine-Eye Bridge in the 53rd year of the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty (1788) when it was renovated by Governor Li Shijie.

Nowadays, Nine-Eye Bridge has become one of the gathering spots for bars in Chengdu. Its bar street is an iconic part of the city’s nightlife. With nearly a hundred bars lining the street, most offer outdoor seating, and each bar is relatively small, typically accommodating just a few tables. When night falls, the riverside glows with lights. Visitors can choose a favorite spot with reasonable drink prices, enjoy fine beverages, and take in the scenic views along the river.

Nine-Eye Bridge, located near the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, is a famous bar street in Chengdu. The classical-style covered bridge is beautiful, though the exact year of its construction is now unknown. The area around Nine-Eye Bridge boasts a large number of bars, restaurants, teahouses, and other entertainment venues, making it very lively at night with crowds of people coming to enjoy the bar scene. At night, the bridge becomes even more dazzling under the glow of the lights.
