Chengdu Huatong Museum

Chengdu Huatong Museum is a privately-run comprehensive museum of historical and artistic artifacts. Since its establishment, it has upheld the philosophy of "revitalizing China through science and technology, and continuing civilization by bridging the ancient and the modern." In accordance with the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Cultural Relics, it is dedicated to cherishing, rescuing, preserving, and showcasing cultural relics. The museum houses a collection of fine artifacts from various periods in China’s history; it also features a state-of-the-art cultural relics research and testing center with internationally first-class hardware facilities.

The museum was initially established in December 2004, with the completion of its Phase II expansion in July 2007. In July 2009, construction began on Phase III exhibition halls and public service facilities. The newly completed Phase III exhibition space features a clear layout and highlights key exhibits, displaying nearly 10,000 items across an area of approximately 30,000 square meters. Hundreds of millions of yuan have been invested in upgrading the museum’s infrastructure and facilities, integrating the latest digital presentation technologies to present the history and stories behind the artifacts from multiple perspectives.

The Phase III museum is divided into 12 exhibition zones. The displays will incorporate the latest digital presentation methods to present the history and stories behind the artifacts from diverse angles. The categories of exhibited artifacts will be more extensive, and the presentation logic more rigorous. Major exhibition halls include the Painting and Calligraphy Art Hall, Ceramics Art Hall, Bronze Art Hall, Han Dynasty Pottery Art Hall, and Ming Dynasty Terracotta Figurines Art Hall. Newly added exhibition halls feature the Jade, Bone and Ivory Art & Metalwork Hall, Contemporary Art Hall, and Buddhist Art Hall.
