The monkeys of Mount Emei are the spirits of the mountain—playful, mischievous, endearingly naive, and remarkably human-like. They are unafraid of people, enjoy close interactions, and share in the joy of visitors, bringing endless delight and becoming a living highlight of Mount Emei. Playing with the monkey troops, feeding them, observing their various antics, understanding their ecological habits, and even enjoying an up-close encounter have become essential experiences for visitors to Mount Emei. The Mount Emei Ecological Monkey Zone is located in the scenic Qingyin Pavilion area, stretching from One-Line Sky to Hongchunping. It is a long, narrow valley covering an area of 25 hectares, making it the largest natural ecological monkey reserve in China. The zone is currently home to three family groups of wild monkeys, totaling over 300 individuals.
