Manzatang Wetland Grassland

Manzatang Wetland Grassland is located 32 kilometers from the county seat in the northeastern part of A’ba County, encompassing grasslands in areas such as Ma’erma, Jialuo Township, and Jakuo Pasture, with an average elevation of about 3,400 meters. Every spring, the area is covered with lush green grass and vibrant flower meadows, making it an excellent pastureland in the Tibetan region of northwestern Sichuan. It is also the source conservation area of the Yellow River basin, connecting with the Ruoergai and Hongyuan national wetland reserves to form a vast expanse. The area boasts a rich and intact highland wetland ecosystem. In addition to Tibetan herders moving with their black-and-white tents and their herds of yaks and sheep, you can spot rabbits darting among deer in the flowers, eagles soaring high in the sky, and especially the rare Class I nationally protected black-necked cranes, which often gather in groups near the marshes. It is an ideal destination for admiring the expansive grasslands of northwestern Sichuan and studying the ecology of highland wetlands.
