Tianxian Cave Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

I. Introduction

Tianxian Cave Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, located on the Yongning River in Naxi, adjacent to National Highway 321. It is 19 kilometers from downtown Luzhou, 15 kilometers from Luzhou Airport, and 9 kilometers from Naxi District, covering an area of 30.68 square kilometers. The scenic area got its name because the front was once a fairy abode where the Goddess of Heaven practiced, and the back was ancient cliff dwellings of the Yelang people. The area features typical Danxia landform, with a forest coverage rate of 90%. “One mountain, two different worlds; three valleys, nine cascading waters”—the crimson Danxia cliffs compete in splendor, while verdant forests and bamboo rise high, earning it the reputation of a “heavenly paradise on earth.”

The scenic area consists of three parts: the Northern Gate Buddhist Pilgrimage Site, the Southern Gate Yelang Grand Canyon, and the Central Rural Leisure Town. It includes dozens of attractions such as Tianquan Temple, Ledao Ancient Town, Anti-Japanese War Primary School, Phosphorescent Waterfall, Huangjue Beach Waterfall, Scholar Worshiping Mother, and Zhu De Eliminating Tyranny. The area is the birthplace of Naxi folk songs, recognized as a “Hometown of Chinese Folk Culture and Art,” a National Demonstration Site for Leisure Agriculture and Rural Tourism, a National Traditional Village, and a National Historical Famous Village.

II. Routes:

1. Chengdu – Chengdu–Zigong–Chishui Expressway – Zigong – Longna Expressway – Naxi – Quba & Tianxian Expressway Exit – Quba Town – Quba Sanhe Bridge – Tianxian Cave Southern Gate Visitor Center

2. Chongqing – Jiangjin – Chongqing–Luzhou Expressway – Hejiang – Naxi – Quba Tianxian Expressway Exit – Quba Town – Quba Sanhe Bridge – Tianxian Cave Southern Gate Visitor Center

3. Bus No. 27 goes directly from Luzhou Lantian Bus Station to the Front Mountain Area of Tianxian Cave.

4. Naxi Hedong Bus Station + Direct Shuttle to Tianxian Cave Visitor Center.

5. The bus from Maliu’otuo to Ledeng can reach the “Yufoting” stop in the Front Mountain Area of Tianxian Cave.

IV. Scenic Area Ticket

1. The ticket price is 58 RMB per person as reviewed by the Price Bureau. Groups of 10 or more enjoy a discounted price of 50 RMB per person.

2. Teachers with valid teaching certificates, students with student IDs, and seniors aged 60–70 with valid IDs enjoy a 50% discount. Active-duty military personnel, disabled veterans, and seniors aged 70 and above with valid IDs enter free of charge.
