The Puzhao Mountain Scenic Area is a National AA-level tourist attraction.

The Puzhao Mountain Scenic Area is located at the junction of Sichuan and Guizhou provinces and three counties. In 2009, it was successfully rated as a National AA-level tourist attraction. Its main features are “one mountain, one valley, and one unique skill.”

One mountain: At an altitude of 986 meters, Puzhao Mountain is the highest peak in Naxi and is known as the “Little Emei of Southern Sichuan.” The entire scenic area centers on mountains, water, rocks, valleys, forests, waterfalls, and temples. It boasts breathtaking red cliffs and ancient caves, spectacular peaks and cascading waterfalls, lush forests and elegant bamboos, tranquil valleys with marvellous scenery, and the picturesque landscape of streams and lakes.

The Puzhao Mountain Temple, located at the summit, was built during the Tang Dynasty and has stood for over 1,300 years. The temple hosts the Guanyin Temple Fairs on the 19th day of the second, sixth, and ninth lunar months each year, attracting tens of thousands of worshippers each time. On ordinary days, the continuous stream of believers and devotees makes the incense offering extremely popular, making it a renowned Buddhist site in both Sichuan and Guizhou. The climate is pleasant, with an average annual temperature of 17°C and approximately 1.5 snowfalls per year.

One valley: The Alsophila Valley is home to more than 100,000 living fossils—Alsophila, a national first-class protected plant from the Jurassic Park era—thriving in lush greenery. The valley features crimson rocks, pristine waters, winding paths through dense woods, ancient vines, cascading streams, fragrant flowers amid whispering woods, and gentle mountain breezes that transport you into a green mythical world.

One unique skill: A martial-arts inspired craft—the hand-pulled sweet potato noodles—is renowned both within and beyond the province. Made using premium chestnut sweet potatoes and pristine spring water from Puzhao Mountain, the noodles undergo 12 purely manual production processes. They are crystal clear, smooth in texture, never break when cooked for long periods, and have a fragrant and refreshing taste. With benefits such as supporting digestion, enhancing complexion, and improving overall fitness, they are especially favored by consumers.

Since being rated as a 2A-level scenic area in 2009, the area has continuously improved its infrastructure. In 2014, an investment of 10.7 million yuan was made to pave 5.3 kilometers of the mountain access road.

Public Transport Routes: Direct buses from Luzhou to Dagu at 6:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 4:40 PM; direct buses from Naxi to Dagu at 6:50 AM, 10:40 AM, and 3:10 PM

Self-driving Route 1: From Luzhou, take G76 to the Huguo exit, drive 20 kilometers along Dachi Road, then follow Dapu Road directly to the foot of Puzhao Mountain.

Self-driving Route 2: Starting from Chishui City in Guizhou, drive 30 kilometers toward Dagu along Dachi Road, then follow Dapu Road directly to the foot of Puzhao Mountain.

Self-driving Route 3: Starting from Naxi, drive along G321 to Huguo Town, then take Dachi Road toward Dagu for 20 kilometers, followed by Dapu Road directly to the foot of Puzhao Mountain.
