The Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area is located 20 kilometers southwest of the county town. It consists of two main scenic zones — Baiyun Mountain and Baiyun Gorge — featuring 108 peaks of varying sizes and around 100,000 acres of contiguous forests. With mountain after mountain and forest after forest, the majestic and lush landscape is known as the “— of Central Sichuan.”

Baiyun Mountain, reaching an altitude of 737 meters, is covered with 80-plus tree varieties from 37 families and 58 genera, including slash pine, loblolly pine, Masson’s pine, mountain loquat, mountain elm, metasequoia, tea oil camellia, and nanmu. Stretching for dozens of miles across nearby and distant peaks, the dense and undulating forests form an endless sea of green. The forest air is fresh, tranquil, and cool. With cliffs, valleys, precipices, streams, and clear pools, the area features over 30 scenic spots.

The Baiyun Lake (Gorge) between the valleys stretches 6 kilometers in length and 50 to 200 meters in width. The lake water is clear, green, and serene, while the lakeshore is lined with steep cliffs and rugged rocks. Along the way, you’ll find scenic spots such as Emerald Lake Rock, Cloud Gorge Dam, Elephant Mountain, Hippo Playing in Water, Reflection Rock, Crane-Resting Ridge, Lotus Rock, Flying Immortal Cave, Hand-Climbing Rock, Homesick Terrace, Taihe Temple, Baiyun Immortal, and Horsehead Peak.
