The Berlin Ancient Town Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Berlin Ancient Town Scenic Area is located in Berlingou Town, Zhaohua District, Guangyuan City, 56 km from downtown Guangyuan and 40 km from Zhaohua. The ancient town of Berlin has thrived since the Western Han Dynasty. In the third year of the Yongjian era of the Eastern Han Dynasty (128 AD), it was established as the Jiameng Sub-district. It was subsequently renamed as Jiameng Post, Berlin Post, Bolong Sub-office (government office), Bolong Li, and Bolong Township, and has a history of over 1,900 years. It served as an important post station along the Lidian Road, a branch of the ancient Shu Road. The tragic love story of Wei Gongzi and Miss Lan, known as “Transformed into Mandarin Ducks and Flew Together,” featured in the Sichuan Opera plays “Lanqiao Water Ritual” and “Lanqiao Rendezvous,” took place here. It is known as the “Romantic Love Ancient Town · Beautiful Water Town Wetland.” Ji Fu Zheng, a renowned expert in Chinese rural folk architecture, called it “a little Jiuzhaigou in the mountain valley.” The ancient Qin-Han-era streets of the town are hailed as a “living specimen” of traditional northern Sichuan residential architecture and are also the only well-preserved “rammed-earth ancient town” in the southwest region.

Berlingou Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Yuanba District, Guangyuan City. Established as Bolong Township in 1940, renamed Berlin Township in 1950, then Chilan Township in 1951, restored as Berlin Township in 1955, changed to a commune in 1958, renamed Berlingou Commune in 1981, re-established as Berlingou Township in 1984, and became a town in 1922. Located in the southern part of the district, 28 km from the district government. It covers an area of 49.6 square kilometers with a population of 9,000. The town is accessible by road.
