Temple Bar (English: Temple Bar) is an area located on the south bank of the River Liffey in the city center of Dublin, the capital of Ireland. It is considered Dublin’s “cultural quarter” and has a bustling nightlife. Many tourists from around the world flock here just to experience its evening charm.

Temple Bar retains a medieval street layout, with many narrow cobblestone alleys, and many local artists, musicians, and photographers have chosen to set up their studios in this area.

The name Temple Bar comes from the Temple family who lived here in the 17th century. The famous oratorio "Messiah" had its premiere here on April 13, 1742, and performances of "Messiah" are still held at the same time and place every year.

The republican revolutionary group, the Society of United Irishmen, established a small tavern on this street in 1791, which later became the well-known Temple Bar Pub.

In the 19th century, the area's prestige declined, and it experienced urban decay in the 20th century. Because of this, it escaped the grasp of many Dublin property developers and has been preserved to this day.
