Lanli Temple

Lanli Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Lanli Temple was originally built in the first year of the Taoyuan era during the Eastern Jin Dynasty (375 AD), located in Lanli Village, Bolinzhao Town. It is one of the ancient “Five Lans” scenic spots of Bolin. Since the Qing Dynasty, it has been restored and is now well-preserved. The temple features a traditional quadrangle layout, standing open on all four sides. Inside, there are more than twenty Buddhist statues including Sakyamuni, Guanyin, and Ksitigarbha, surrounded by dozens of towering ancient cypresses, creating a serene environment. In the past, the Lishan Academy was established here and gained considerable fame. Wei Gongzi, the male protagonist of the love story “The Tryst at Lan Bridge,” once studied here. According to the Qing-era Guangyuan County Annals, “The Zhang Fei Iron Statue over a zhang tall at Lanli Temple in Guangnan is an Eastern Jin Dynasty relic,” unfortunately, it has been destroyed.

Bolinzhao Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Yuanba District, Guangyuan City. Established as Bolong Township in 1940, renamed Bolin Township in 1950, then Chilan Township in 1951, reverted to Bolin Township in 1955, changed to a commune in 1958, renamed Bolinzhao Commune in 1981, became Bolinzhao Township in 1984, and was upgraded to a town in 1922. Located in the southern part of the district, it is 28 kilometers from the district government. Covering an area of 49.6 square kilometers with a population of 9,000, it has road access.
