Suolan Bridge

Suolan Bridge is a chain bridge that spans Lanxi Lake. It was once a vital route from ancient Lizhou (present-day Guangyuan) to Langzhong. Due to its narrow location, nestled among towering mountains where mountain mist gathers and lake vapors linger, the bridge appears to lock in the fog—hence the name “Suolan,” meaning “Mist-Locking.” Legend has it that the scholar Wei Gongzi and Miss Lan met and fell in love on the bridge, pledged their lives to each other, but ultimately died together, transforming into a pair of colorful pheasants that cried mournfully as they flew away. Later generations turned this poignant love story into the Sichuan operas “Lanqiao Sacrificial Waters” and “Lanqiao Rendezvous,” which have been passed down to this day.

Bolin Gou Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Yuanba District, Guangyuan City. Established as Bolong Township in 1940, renamed Bolin Township in 1950, then Chilan Township in 1951, restored as Bolin Township in 1955, converted to a commune in 1958, renamed Bolin Gou Commune in 1981, re-established as Bolin Gou Township in 1984, and upgraded to a town in 1922. Located in the southern part of the district, it is 28 kilometers from the district government. Covering an area of 49.6 square kilometers with a population of 9,000, it has road access.
