Pingshun Xigou Village

Pingshun Xigou Village was once hailed as a banner of the agricultural front in New China and a microcosm of rural development in the country. It was here that China's first mutual-aid cooperative group was born. Through the spirit of self-reliance and hard work, the local people transformed Xigou from a barren, resource-depleted mountain valley into a prosperous and thriving new rural community. As a sacred site that has moved countless Chinese people, Xigou was praised by Mao Zedong as “the direction of the farmers in the border region.” Renowned national labor models such as Li Shunda and Shen Jilan, with their impeccable and outstanding qualities, have influenced generations of Chinese. Today, Xigou has become a nationally renowned red tourism destination, playing a significant role in areas such as patriotism and integrity education. The newly renovated Xigou Exhibition Hall displays a large collection of precious photos and artifacts, vividly and authentically presenting the glorious journey of the older generation of Xigou residents in their arduous efforts to develop the mountainous region, as well as the heartfelt care of Party and state leaders.
