Beishe Dayu Temple is situated in the northwest of Beishe Village, Pingshun County. It faces south with its back to the north. Along the central axis from south to north are, in sequence, the theater stage, offering hall, and main hall, with side towers and east-west wing rooms distributed on both sides. The main hall is a Yuan Dynasty structure, while the other buildings were constructed during the Qing Dynasty.

The main hall has an almost square floor plan, with a width of three bays and a depth of six rafters. It features a single-eave flush gable roof covered with gray tubular and flat tiles. The bracket sets on the column tops are of the tiered type with protruding arms. The hall is surrounded by thick columns and beams. The space beneath the eaves is richly decorated with colored paintings, while the interior beams and brackets are adorned with intricate carvings and painted patterns. The beams and purlins are mostly intact, vividly reflecting the architectural style and construction techniques of their respective eras. The ancient murals are relatively well-preserved, depicting scenes such as landscapes and figures. The ceiling is divided into sections, with coffered designs adding to the ornamental effect. The wooden structures throughout the hall remain solid and retain much of their original material. The roof eaves feature carved brackets and decorative elements. The front porch is supported by intricately carved columns. The side rooms still preserve some traditional layout features. The entire architectural complex showcases the distinctive characteristics of religious buildings from the Ming and Qing periods.

The overall layout of Beishe Dayu Temple is well-preserved, with a stable structure, and holds significant historical value.

In May 2013, Beishe Dayu Temple was designated as part of the Seventh Batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Beishe Village: Overview of Beishe Village

Beishe Village is located on a plateau 15 kilometers west of Pingshun County, 15 kilometers from Lucheng to the north and bordering Huguan to the south. It lies at the intersection of the Chengxiao Line and the Changli Line. The village enjoys convenient transportation and fertile land, making it one of the main grain-producing areas in Pingshun County. With a population of 3,012, the village has 3,400 mu of arable land and an average per capita income of 2,240 yuan. Beishe Village currently has one middle school with over 400 students, one primary school with more than 600 students, and one county-level health clinic.
