Dazhou Botanical Garden

Dazhou Botanical Garden was established in May 2000 with approval from city and county authorities. It is located in Heshi Town, Daxian. Bordered by Dazhou Airport to the west and the Zhou River to the east, it is only 12 kilometers from downtown. The garden features flat terrain, convenient water, land, and air access, and boasts blooming flowers year-round and evergreen plants in all seasons. With fresh air and a beautiful environment, it integrates multiple functions such as the production and sale of flowers and seedlings, sightseeing and tourism for citizens, leisure and entertainment, as well as nature education for primary and middle school students. It is currently the largest botanical ecological park in Dazhou City.

Covering an area of over 200 acres (including 120 acres of flower and seedling nurseries, more than 60 acres of lake surface, and about 20 acres of ancient-winter-sweet-bonsai garden), Dazhou Botanical Garden boasts a rich and diverse range of plant species. Among them are over ten types of national first- and second-class protected plants such as Caryota ochlandra and Liriodendron chinense, and hundreds of thousands of palm plants including Caryota ochlandra, Washingtonia filifera, and Caryota maxima. The lake area is adorned with pavilions and waterside structures, reflecting shimmering light on the water, while winding paths through the garden offer secluded charm, perfect for sightseeing, fishing, leisure, and entertainment. The garden is fully equipped with facilities such as meeting rooms, restaurants, guest rooms, farmhouse accommodations, parking lots, and docks, capable of hosting medium and small-sized conferences. In 2001, Dazhou Botanical Garden was designated as an official tourism reception site by the city and county tourism bureaus; in 2003, it was recognized as a patriotic education base by the Daxian County Party Committee and County Government, and is the premier attraction along the golden waterway of the Zhou River.
