Zhou River

The Zhou River originates in Xuanhan County and Wanyuan City at the southern foot of the Daba Mountains, flows through Tongchuan District and Da County, and joins the Ba River at Sanhui Town in Quxian County before flowing into the Qu River. It is the river with the largest drainage area within Dazhou City. Within Da County, the Zhou River stretches approximately 50 kilometers, passing through Naiwai Town, Heshi Town, Xinxing, Jinya, Shenjia, Dushi, Mutou, and other townships. After the completion of the Jinpingzi Navigation and Hydropower Project, the total reservoir capacity reached 100 million cubic meters, allowing for the passage of passenger and cargo ships under 500 tons. The area mainly consists of low mountains and hills, featuring a subtropical humid monsoon climate with distinct seasons, a long frost-free period, abundant rainfall, and a mild climate. The scenic stretch along the river boasts well-preserved vegetation, minimal pollution, picturesque riverbanks, and a serene, fresh atmosphere. Along the way, there are numerous cultural and natural tourist attractions, including Gayun Pavilion, Cuiping Mountain, Dragon Claw Pagoda, Zhongba Island, Chengdu Mountain Lawn Park, Dazhou Botanical Garden, Heshi Airport, Peach Blossom Land, and the Little Three Gorges Plank Walk.
