Former Site of the Political Department of the Red 30th Army

The Former Site of the Political Department of the Red 30th Army is a Sichuan Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit, a classic red tourism attraction, and a patriotic education base.

The Former Site of the Political Department of the Red 30th Army is located in Zitong Township, Daxian County, Sichuan Province, about 60 kilometers from downtown Daxian. Before the founding of the People’s Republic of China, this site was the manor of Du Guangting, the puppet head of the militia in Zitong Township, hence its original name “Du Mansion.” The entire estate was initially built in the early years of the Republic of China and was gradually renovated over the years to become a quadrangle courtyard with the characteristics of rural northern Sichuan. The structure of the buildings features a post-and-lintel frame, red walls with wooden paneling, and gray-tiled roofs. The entrance gate is a stone ceremonial gate commonly seen on rooftops in northeastern Sichuan, and there is a small garden on the rooftop. The estate covers an area of 1,200 square meters, with a built-up area of approximately 620 square meters and currently 10 surviving rooms.
