Tieshanping Forest Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Known as the "Green Pearl," Tieshanping Forest Park is one of Chongqing's four major natural parks. Stretching 50 li along its ridges and with its main peak rising 584 meters above sea level, it belongs to the eastern range of the Huaying Mountains. Approved by China’s Ministry of Forestry in 1988 as a "forest park," its prime location is just 20 kilometers from downtown. It is one of Chongqing’s primary natural parks in the suburbs and a green barrier to the city’s eastern area, as well as a vibrant green gem in the urban tapestry of Jiangbei. The park spans 18,000 mu of forested land, offering a natural oxygen bar on the outskirts of Chongqing. With mild winters and cool summers, it features hot springs, historical sites, and attractions such as Luohandong Cave, Dripping Rock, Five-Pebble Stone, and Eagle Beak Rock. It also includes the ruins of Sengguan Temple, where Emperor Jianwen of the Ming Dynasty once stayed. The park has over 30 hotels and lodges that can accommodate nearly 4,000 guests daily, offering activities such as lake boating, barbecues and bonfires, archery hunting, live-fire shooting, and camping in tents.

Tieshanping Forest Park not only boasts beautiful natural scenery but also rich cultural landscapes. Historical records indicate people have lived here since the early Ming Dynasty. The park is home to the renowned historical site—the ruins of Sengguan Temple—as well as the Qing Dynasty tomb of Li Tingxiu, an official honored with the title of Fengzhi Daifu.

The park features a vibrant variety of 326 plant species across one genus, teeming with wild charm. Its thousand-mu plum garden bursts into fragrant bloom each winter. The opening of National Highway 319 and the construction of the Wugui Road first-class highway, with an investment of nearly 730 million yuan, have not only improved traffic access to Tieshanping (making the journey from central Chongqing just over 20 minutes) but also connected several scenic spots within the park.

The park is characterized by overlapping mountains, elegant peaks, and lush greenery, with over a hundred plant species competing in beauty and natural allure. Covering 20,000 mu, Tieshanping Forest Park features dense forests, fresh air, pleasant climate, and outstanding environmental quality, making it the nearest summer retreat and tourist destination in eastern Chongqing.
