The Tan Family Residence in Wan Di is the ancestral home of the Tan family in Hezui Township. Originally built during the reign of Emperor Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, it covers an area of approximately 4 mu (about 2,666 square meters) with a built-up area of around 5,000 square meters. This large-scale residence features an intact layout, well-preserved architectural style, exquisite craftsmanship, and elaborate ornamentation, making it a rare and outstanding example of manor architecture in the Sichuan-Chongqing region.

The Tan Family Residence in Wan Di has a history of over 250 years. It is clearly documented in the "Genealogy of the Tan Family," with a clear lineage and development history, which gives it high historical value. The residence also boasts distinctive architectural features—its structures coexist harmoniously with the surrounding environment, reflecting the landscape and spatial design techniques of ancient folk architecture in the Sichuan-Chongqing region. In terms of construction methods, it combines local traditional techniques with architectural styles from the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, showcasing the decorative artistry and craftsmanship of folk architecture.

On October 7, 2019, the Tan Family Residence in Wan Di was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
