The “Tsingy de Bemaraha Geopark” is located along Madagascar’s west coast, covering an area of about 666 square kilometers. The massive needle-like stone pinnacles are divided into two areas—Large Tsingy and Small Tsingy—based on structure and scale. Together with the adjacent “Tsingy de Bemaraha Strict Nature Reserve” to the north, which spans 853 square kilometers, the combined area exceeds 152,000 hectares of limestone terrain. This unique geological wonder was designated as a nature reserve in 1927 and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990.
