The former site of the Pingjie Branch of Xituo Supply and Marketing Cooperative is a cultural relic protection unit of Shizhu County.

The former site of the Pingjie Branch of Xituo Supply and Marketing Cooperative is located on Pingjie, the lower section of Yunti Street, at even-numbered addresses 152 to 162, Yunti Street, Lao Yunti Jie, Yanjiang Neighborhood Committee, Xituo Town. Dating from the modern era, it is categorized as a representative modern-era building and an important historical site.

On December 31, 2011, the former site of the Pingjie Branch of Xituo Supply and Marketing Cooperative was included in the fourth batch of cultural relics protection units of Shizhu County.

Xituo Town: Xituo boasts a long history and rich culture. As early as the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, it was described as a place “where water and land trade flourished, bustling with life, like a prosperous market town.” From ancient times to the present, it has been an important deep-water harbor along the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, and is now a key tourism gateway to Huangshui National Forest Park.

　Xituo Town is situated on the banks of the Yangtze River in the northern part of Shizhu County. Originally named Xijietuo, it was historically known as the “western border of Bazhou,” and derived its name from its location by the backwater bay on the southern bank of the Yangtze River.
