Tongliang Bayue Mountain—West Hot Springs is situated within the areas of West Hot Springs Mountain and Bayue Mountain in Tongliang County, spanning an area of 51 square kilometers and located 60 kilometers from Chongqing. It was designated as a municipal-level scenic area in 1999. The West Hot Springs are located in the back-tilted valley of Hot Springs Mountain and gained fame during the Anti-Japanese War. Natural attractions include bamboo forests, waterfalls, and karst caves, while cultural sites feature Iron Enclosure Fortress, Martyrs' Cemetery, the former residences of Lin Sen and Bai Chongxi, the tomb of Bai Chongxi’s mother, and the Chinese Women’s Relief Society founded by Soong Mei-ling. Bayue Mountain is 5 kilometers from Bachuan Town, the county seat, with its main peak, Xianglu Peak, rising 778 meters above sea level and ranking among the “Top Ten Scenic Spots of Chongqing.” Major attractions include tea plantations, ancient and famous trees, Bayue Temple, Xuanyuan Palace, Sanfeng Cave, Huiguang Temple, Tiandeng Rock, Chessboard Rock, Flying Rock, and Huangge Gate.
