The Chongqing "Tongliang Fire Dragon" performance, which caused a sensation at the Nantou Lantern Festival last year, is making a comeback this year. From March 2 to March 6, a total of six shows will feature the acclaimed "No. 1 Dragon in China," bringing a unique thrill to this year’s Lantern Festival.

The Tongliang Fire Dragon from Chongqing, China, boasts a history of over a thousand years and has been included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage list. In addition to the dragon dance performance, molten iron blocks heated to 1,500 degrees Celsius are splashed in the air, creating intense flames and sparks. The longest fire dragon measures 40 meters, delivering a grand, spectacular, and thrilling experience.
The Chongqing Tongliang Fire Dragon Has a Thousand-Year History
This is the second time the Chongqing Tongliang Fire Dragon has performed in Taiwan. During its first invitation last year, shows were held in Nantou and Hsinchu, attracting over 160,000 visitors. This year, performances will take place at Nantou’s Piaosha Stage and Puli Junior High School, featuring two fire dragons with upgraded designs. Not only are the choreographed dances more ethnic in style, but additional fireworks and colored light strips have been incorporated to enhance the visual appeal.
