Tongliang Jinmei Impression Scenic Area is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Tongliang · Jinmei Impression (Dongcheng Waxberry Garden) is one of the key construction projects among Tongliang’s “Five Golden Flowers.” The garden is located in Anquan Village and Huayuan Village, Dongcheng Subdistrict, with a total planned area of over 6,000 mu and an investment plan of 1.1 billion yuan. It aims to create a leisure agriculture and rural tourism resort area; it is positioned as a national standardized AAAA-level tourist attraction and a national leisure agriculture and rural tourism demonstration site, establishing Chongqing Tongliang’s wellness and elderly care highland — the “Fragrant Paradise” retirement community.

The core area of the project is planned to include “one center, one manor, and four zones.” The “one center” refers to the visitor reception center, located in the southwest of the tourist area, adjacent to the Tongliang Industrial Park. The reception building covers a land area of about 1,270 square meters, with a total construction area of about 2,540 square meters. The “one manor” is the eco-agriculture experience manor, spanning over 200 mu or more than 130,000 square meters, divided into an eco-agriculture experience zone, greenhouse vegetable display zone, premium fruit picking zone, aquatic vegetable demonstration zone, and parent-child interactive entertainment zone. The eco-agriculture experience manor adopts business models such as subscription, trusteeship, and product delivery. The “four zones” are the waxberry sightseeing zone, themed resort zone, waterfront entertainment zone, and elderly care leisure zone. The waxberry sightseeing zone is located in the southeast of the tourist area and serves as the concentrated display area for the waxberry theme. The themed resort zone is situated in the north of the tourist area, featuring a beautiful and tranquil environment, making it an ideal place for leisure vacations. The waterfront entertainment zone is located in the central part of the tourist area and includes four scenic water bodies, such as the Ganziwan Reservoir and Anquan Reservoir, known for their picturesque views. The elderly care leisure zone is located in the eastern part of the tourist area and boasts a peaceful ecological environment that is relatively secluded.

The “one center” mainly includes the scenic area gate, reception building, waxberry culture square, waxberry culture corridor, eco-parking lot, and specialty commercial street. The scenic area gate features two large ficus virens trees that form an enclosure above the road, with the name of the tourist area displayed in the enclosed horizontal area. The reception building is equipped with consultation facilities, exhibition and promotional facilities, rest areas, special services for targeted groups, medical facilities (first aid kits), public toilets, and a tourist commodity trading area. The waxberry culture square covers an area of about 3,000 square meters, with the waxberry logo placed in the center of the square. The paving mainly consists of bluestone, supplemented by pebbles. The waxberry culture corridor covers an area of about 150 square meters, featuring a roof covered with green tiles to highlight a rustic charm. The eco-parking lot covers an area of about 2,000 square meters and is located within the cultural square.

The waxberry sightseeing zone mainly includes the Waxberry Grand View Garden (with sections for potted plants, picking, and fragrance tasting) and the specialty dining, accommodation, and entertainment garden (including the Plum Bud House, Plum Fragrance Court, Plum Sunflower Residence, and Plum Tranquil Pavilion). The themed resort zone mainly includes Meizhuang, Orchid Garden, Bamboo Courtyard, and Chrysanthemum Garden. The waterfront entertainment zone mainly includes a floating bridge, waterside fishing platforms, boat rides, lakeside cycling, and a refreshing waterfall. The elderly care leisure zone mainly includes a retirement community and a Serene Zen Garden.

The waxberry garden relies on the foundational market of the county town and radiates to potential source markets such as Chongqing’s main urban area, Hechuan District, Tongnan County, Bishan County, and Suining City, offering significant potential and notable benefits. The completion of the entire waxberry garden project will effectively boost the development of rural tourism. During normal operation years, it can receive over 300,000 visitors annually, drive the tertiary industry development of surrounding farmers, and is expected to achieve a comprehensive income of 480 million yuan from leisure agriculture tourism by 2020.
