Chongqing’s Lipingping Forest Park is located in Luoping Town, Wushan County, the eastern gateway to Chongqing, adjacent to the Little Three Gorges Forest Park and about 45 kilometers from the county town. The park covers a total area of 1,388 hectares, with an average altitude of 1,800 meters and an annual average temperature of 18.4°C. The July average temperature is 20.7°C, making it an ideal place for summer retreat, relaxation, autumn enjoyment, and snow viewing.

The forest coverage in the park exceeds 95%, primarily consisting of Japanese larch, Chinese pine, and planted forests, supplemented by natural secondary forests of torch tree and Quercus glauca. The forest resources are extremely rich. With a diverse range of forest landscapes, it is a green jewel nestled between the Greater Three Gorges and the Little Three Gorges. The area features unique landforms, ancient forests, strange trees, rare flowers and plants, as well as endangered flora and fauna, making it an ideal destination for eco-tourism, summer health retreats, leisure vacations, and conference research.

To get to Lipingping, head in the direction of Longmen Bridge. At the Zaoyang Big Bend, there will be signs: turning right leads to Guandu, while turning left leads to Luoping—you should take the left turn toward Luoping. The route passes through Zaoyang and Liangping, and after completing Liangping, you’ll reach the Xiaofengkou area of Luoping, where another sign indicates: right for Luoping, left for Lipingping. The one-way trip takes about two hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus heading in the direction of Jinping.
