Wushan Goddess Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Goddess Temple was originally built in 676 AD during the prosperous Tang Dynasty. Its original site was located on Feifeng Peak in Wushan County, Chongqing, and it was erected in honor of Goddess Peak.

"Seeking sacred traces hindered by river winds," visitors to Wushan and Wu Gorge naturally come in search of the traces of the Goddess of Wushan, expressing their admiration and reverence. "Sacred traces" refer to both natural and cultural landscapes associated with the Goddess. They are an important part of Goddess culture and are like three-dimensional paintings or frozen poems that inspire endless imagination, evoking a deep sense of reverence for the Goddess of Wushan. Among the cultural landscapes, the most prominent is undoubtedly the Goddess Temple.

The Wushan Goddess Temple has a very long history.

The Goddess Temple was built at the foot of Feifeng Peak, across from Goddess Peak. Behind it lies the Goddess's Book Granting Terrace, the spot where Yu the Great received the divine decree from the Goddess. It is located forty li east of Wushan County, in a place called Qingshi.

Hence, when people refer to the Wushan Goddess Temple, they generally mean the one in Qingshi. Situated beneath the graceful and steep Goddess Peak and along the route that all boats must pass, it is highly accessible for worshippers seeking blessings, as well as for visitors who come to admire, pay tribute, and sightsee, making it especially renowned.
